Hand Foil Blocking Our foil blocking procedure is done on a hand operated KSF 3 Series Platen Press. This type of machine is quick to set up with minimal set up wastage and with it being hand operated, it gives us more control on print quality and enables us to inspect every item as we print them. Our foil blocking machine is capable of printing onto any thickness of card with a maximum foil image area of A5 with bleed and we can handle sheet sizes of up to SRA3. Various coloured foils are available from metallics, gloss and matt pigments, holographics, satin and matt finishes. Not only can foil blocking be used on paper and card, it can also be used on bonded leather and certain plastics.

Colour Digital Printing We have full colour digital printing capabilities utilising our Xerox Colour 550 digital printing press. This machine produces high quality digital print on paper and card up to a thickness of 350gm. In comparison to lithographic printing, digital printing is a far quicker and more streamlined process. Basically we print directly from a digital file to the substrate eliminating any need for printing plates and press set up thus making lead times very short which can sometimes be the deciding factor for the customer.

Lithographic Printing We have access to the latest multi colour lithographic printing presses producing high quality full colour print onto a wide range of substrates up to thicknesses of 450gm. Pre-dominantly used for longer print runs and as technology progresses, shorter run lengths can be achieved at a cost effective price.

Embossing Embossing is where a metal printing plate/die is used in conjunction with a counterforce to make the image raised in the material. Effects can be created with or without foil to create a new dimension to your project.

De-bossing De-bossing is where a metal printing plate/die is applied under pressure to indent the image into the material. Particularly good on thick card where you won't get "show though" on the reverse and also makes your project very tactile.

Duplex Gluing A process of gluing two or more pieces of card together to create a thick card. A combination of different coloured card can be used to create a contemporary project. This process works well if the finished thickness of the card exceeds the capabilities of digital and litho. so one layer of card may need to be printed digital or litho and another layer of card foil blocked or de-bossed. These separate layers are printed first then duplex glued together to provide the overall finished thickness.

Edge Gilding Edge Gilding is a process where metallic foil is applied to the edges of the card. The most popular colours that are used are gold and silver and is most effective on thick card, preferably 350gm upwards. Other metallic colours are available and for something more contemporary, solid Pantone pigments colours are also available.
